ART Perm-2016

Visitors of the 18^th international exhibition of pictural, graphic, sculpture arts and handicraft «ART Perm-2016» can see the works of Perm artists, who created the series of landscapes “The twin-towns”. For 15 years the Perm branch of the Union of Russian Artists has annually been making exhibitions of townscapes dedicated to celebration of the City Day.  The townscapes of Perm and other centers of the Kama region are diverse, as the artists themselves, but there isno one indifferent. Each artist imports deep personal feeling to the image of Perm or native town, expresses individual perception.

In 2015 the townscape exhibition was dedicated to the 70^th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945. The main feature of the exhibition was the series “The twin-towns” demonstrating the panoramas of the towns that became twin-towns of Perm at different times.

The famous Perm artists N.Glushchenko, V.Zhdanov, L.Malysheva, S.Podrez, Y.Postnova, I.Turbin, L.Fomin create the townscapes of such world-wide famous towns, as Oxford (the Great Britain), Duisburg (Germany), Agrigento (Italy), Qingdao (China), Louisville (USA), not  to mention Perm itself.

The paintings by Perm artists, drawn from nature or imagination, not so much demonstrate the sights of one or another city as create poetic image of acity impressing by modern skyscrapers as Louisville, or by blinding light of ancient ruins as Agrigento. In each case the audience discover something new and important about the world towns twinned with Perm.

And the boundaries of Perm broaden to the limits of the world oecumene. Perm artists will continue creating this interesting and relevant series.
