Within development of international contacts in Ural branch of the Ilya Glazunov Russian Academy of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture, on September, 21, the lecture and presentation were held by Marie Joy Darkins, sculptor and potter, who came to Perm as part of academic group from Oxford (Great Britain) within the exchange cultural and academic program between Perm State National Research University and Oxford University.
During the themed lecture “Ewelme – a medieval village, where I live”, Mary told students about her creative and pedagogical activity, about her view of modern art. The lecture was held in the form of discussion, students actively participated in discussion of such problems as tasks and objectives of modern art, its content and forms, author’s opinion of artist and interaction with audience, demand of art in modern society, art and pedagogy.
The event was interesting and educational for students. Discussion of problems of modern art with a professional from Great Britain became an important event in the life of Ural branch of the Academy.
