The Festival&Contest “Days of Perm culture in Sicily" ("La Settimana RUSSA in SICILIA")

The Festival&Contest “Days of Perm culture in Sicily” starts at the beginning of July. It has been running for the third consecutive year.

The best young artists, children's and youth art groups of the Perm region have performances on the concert venue not only in Agrigento, but in other Italian cities, such as, Realmonte, Palermo, Aragon, Porto Empedocle, Jopollo and Mussomeli.

This year's Festival is held under the patronage of the Consul of the Russian Federation and with the support of the administrations of Perm and Agrigento.

The organizers of the Festival are the art company “World of art” (Perm), the art company "Voskresenie" (Perm) and the company "Prostudios" (Agrigento, Italy).

The Festival of San Calogero

The days of Saint Calogero is one of the most magnificent feasts, celebrated annually in the Sicilian city Agrigento. The festival lasts for 8 days, from the first to the second Sunday in July.

It is difficult to describe this festival, it unites mysticism, ancient traditions and Christian faith, radiating an energy. The festival culminates with the procession of sacred figure of the Saint Calogero, accompanied by the sounds of the tambourine, recalling the ancient Arab presence on the island. One of the festival’s characteristic is the preparation of typical bread loafs with sesame seeds and fennel, which are thrown before the saint's cart in the procession, as dictated by tradition.

The Blues & Wine Soul Festival

The Blues & Wine Soul Festival is one of the most famous event, accompanied by the stars from abroad, in the heart of the Valley of the Temples archeological park.

The event joins together the best blues, soul, and gospel with the tasting of Sicilian wines. While the biggest international blues & soul artists give their performances, the best vintners of Sicily and Italy present their own products, and professional sommeliers guide the public in wine tastings.

By day, educational visits are organized in the wineries, as well as conferences on safeguarding the environment and viticulture.

This year, the Festival will be held from 30 July to 16 August.
