05.08.2013
From September 17-23, 2013, the International Festival of Twin Cities will be held in Perm, whose motto is going to be a famous song by The Beatles Band - “Come Together!”.
The Festival is coincided with the 290th Anniversary of the capital of the Kama Region. Within numerous events, the twin cities as well as new pretenders for this honourable title will adore Perm with their own presents in various creative directions – music, theatre, art (photo, video, cinema, and visual arts), sports, actual occurrences of the contemporary creative process.
Within the Festival, such events are planned as the Dance Project “Much of Sun!”, concerts at the rock stage “The Foreign Whirr”, an open international Spartakiad, the Fair of Solidarity, a day and night of the foreign film “Illuminator”, open-air exhibition of young photographers from Perm’s twin cities “The Draft”, creation of a co-joint tree alley within the Project "The Bloom" … Besides, more than 20 bands playing The Beatles music will be present at the music stage, which will be eponymous with the Festival’s title – “Come Together!”.
Festival’s participants will use the whole city space – concert and cinema halls, theatres, museums, clubs, stadiums, parks, squares, and further sites. For the spectators, the visit of all the events will be free of charge, whereas 40 per cent of free tickets will be distributed among pensioners, multi-child families, and disabled people.
The Co-Founders of the Festival are the Administration of the City of Perm as well as the Department of Culture and Youth Policy at the Administration of the City of Perm.
It is worth remembering that twin cities of Perm are Louisville (USA), Oxford (Great Britain), Duisburg (Germany), Qingdao (China). Since 2012, the co-operation was extended to Agrigento (Italy) and Amnéville (France). In 2013, the negotiations on the establishment of such relations were opened for Grenoble (France) and a series of the Mexico cities.
