Annual International Art Festival RUHRtriennale

From August 14 till September 29 Perm’s twin city Duisburg, Germany, will host RUHRtriennale – the annual International Art Festival.
The Tchaikovsky Perm Opera and Ballet Theatre troupe is participating in the Festival. On August 16 a concert in memory of Gerard Mortier, founder and first Art Director of the Festival, took place in the Landscape Park Duisburg Nord. It was conducted, along with Sylvain Cambreling and Emilio Pomárico, by Perm Theater Artistic Director Teodor Currentzis.
At the end of August, Theodor Currentzis and the musicAeterna orchestra are departing to Bochum where the musicians will rehearse for a new staging of The Rhine Gold by Richard Wagner, opening on September 12. The Rhine Gold new rendition promises to become a creative compound of opera, theater, installation and ritual. The Perm troupe and Theodor Currentzis are to return to RUHRtriennale for yet another performance on September 19, featuring Johannes Brahms Concerto for Violin and Orchestra in D major and Symphony No. 3 in F major.
