25.11.2015

Ms Hampel participated in the III Forum of Archivists of Perm Kray dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the integration of Perm Region and Komi-Permyak Autonomous Okrug. The Forum took place in Kudymkar on 18 November 2015. Ms Lisa Hampel addressed a meeting that gathered representatives of Federal and Municipal Archives of Perm and Perm Kray as well as archivists of Moscow, Mordovia, Chelyabinsk Region, Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug and Nyzhniy Novgorod Region, with her report on the social mission and archives’ openness in the XXI century.

The main subject of the Forum was the archives’ mission in the modern world. One of its essential components is the preservation of the ethnocultural identity. The Forum was summarized by a round-table conference “Modern Archives: Challenges and Responses”. Besides her participation in this event, Ms Hampel’s program included visits to the Local History Museum, Art Gallery and a city tour. Also, she discussed the concept and the plan of organization of an international archivists’ conference in Perm 2017.

One must know that the co-operation of Perm and Duisburg Archives started with Duisburg Archives’ work for the “Perm’s Sister Cities in the World War II” expo-installation. This exhibition was presented at Perm Art Gallery in October 2015 under the name of “Seven Worlds – One War”.
