Visit of the delegation from Duisburg

From May 24 till May 28 a delegation from Perm’s twin city Duisburg (Germany) is visiting our city. On the delegation is Sarah Güttler, Head of the Living Space (Lebens Räume) charity association, and Norbert Gatz, worker of the workshop for disabled people.
Sarah Güttler noted that partnership of our cities in the sphere of realization of social projects is at high level, all projects are long-term, and both parties take an active part in them. It is important to preserve what has been developed and continue proper dialogue.
Within the visit of German delegation, meetings with the representatives of Perm higher education institutions were held. Guests communicated with Konstantin Egorov, Vice-rector for Education of Perm State Humanitarian Pedagogical University (PSHPU), gave lectures for professors of PSHPU, and also for students at qualification upgrading courses “Training of volunteers guiding deaf-blind people”. Also a meeting with students and management of the Department of Social Work and Conflict Resolution Studies of the Law Faculty of the Perm State National Research University (PSNRU). As part of the visit, a conference with Tatyana Margolina, Human Rights Ombudsman of Perm Kray, is scheduled. Social activists from Duisburg expressed hope that they will visit Perm again in a short time.
We remind that partnership with Duisburg in the sphere of work with disabled people is long-term. In 2015, three visits of Duisburg colleagues were arranged. Meetings with Igor Sapko, Head of Perm, and Pavel Fokin, Social Development Deputy Minister, international motivational seminar “Peculiarities of work with disabled people. Experience of Germany”, lecture for students of the Faculty of Pre-School Pedagogy and Psychology of PSHPU were held. Also the delegation participated in annual ceremony of awarding prize of the Head of Perm “Preodolenie” and the Kray festival “Preodolenie”.
