In the City Administration Acting Mayor of Perm, Dmitry Samoylov, met representatives from Great Britain. The guests were Bob Price, councillor, political leader of Oxford City Council, and Tim Sadler, Deputy Chief Executive.
The guests came to Perm to participate in events dedicated to the centenary of Perm State National Research University and higher education in the Ural region in general. During the meeting the representatives of Oxford noted that in the preceding year (since their last visit) the quality of the roads improved and the city center developed. For his part Dmitry Samoylov added that significant steps were made not only in the sphere of municipal improvement, but also in education – for the first time in 20 years the city government built and started a whole new school “Mastergrad”. In particular, in the new general educational institution students have an opportunity to take professional practices, which will help them to make the more conscious choice of future profession.
The participants of the meeting discussed questions of agglomeration both for Perm and Oxford, as both cities need to cooperate with surrounding areas. They defined the courses of solving this question in legal and substantial field. A separate topic of discussion was provision of housing: questions of building new houses and public and private partnership in this sphere.
